Vendor Spotlight: Second Chance Snacks

At Second Chance Snacks, every treat has a story, and it all begins with rescue dogs.

Owner Ashley created Second Chance Snacks after seeing firsthand how rescue dogs can completely change a person's life. What began as making healthy homemade treats for her own dogs quickly grew into a business built on love, quality, and the belief that every dog deserves the very best.

Today, every treat is handcrafted in small batches right here in Georgia using simple, wholesome ingredients. You will never find artificial preservatives, fillers, or unnecessary additives. Instead, every recipe is made with the same care Ashley puts into feeding her own five rescue dogs.

In addition to their baked treats, Second Chance Snacks offers a wide selection of natural dehydrated chews for dogs of all sizes and ages. They even carry a few treats that cats love, including wild-caught salmon and chicken liver. Customer favorites include Chicken Feet, Pig Ears, Turkey Necks, Chicken Hearts, Chicken Breast Jerky, Coconut Chill Chews, Peanut Butter & Carrot Crunchers, Pupcakes, and more.

The name Second Chance Snacks honors the rescue dogs who inspired the business. Many of Ashley's own dogs came from difficult situations, and each one reminds her that every rescue deserves the opportunity to be loved.

While customers see a beautifully stocked booth on market day, there is a great deal of work happening behind the scenes. Every product is baked or dehydrated by Ashley, then packaged, labeled, and prepared by hand. She spends countless hours researching ingredients and sourcing quality products, often from local farmers, to ensure every treat is something she would proudly give her own pets.

One of Ashley's favorite parts of the market is seeing returning customers. She loves hearing that a picky eater finally found a favorite treat or watching excited dogs recognize the Second Chance Snacks booth before their owners do.

For Ashley, the farmers market is about much more than selling treats. It is about building community, celebrating new adoptions, connecting with rescue organizations, and getting to know families and their pets year after year.

When you visit the booth, Ashley hopes you feel welcome whether you are shopping or simply stopping by to let your dog say hello. She enjoys helping every customer find the perfect treat based on their dog's size, chewing style, and dietary needs.

Looking ahead, customers can expect even more natural dehydrated chews, seasonal baked treats, enrichment products, and healthy new offerings. Ashley also plans to continue partnering with local farmers whenever possible to source many of her ingredients.

One fun fact that many customers do not know is that every product is approved by Ashley's five rescue dogs before it ever reaches the market. If they do not absolutely love it, it never becomes a Second Chance Snacks product.

Be sure to stop by the Second Chance Snacks booth, meet Ashley, and find a healthy treat your furry family member will love.
